DF1 is primarily used for data exchange between Allen-Bradley PLCs and third-party devices. The DF1 Analyzer layer plugin can be attached to any Serial-based stream session for analysis of the DF1 protocol. It makes working with DF1 easier than ever.

First, start one of the following sessions:

• Serial Monitor
• Serial Tap
• Generic Serial Tap
• EZ-Tap Pro
• Serial

Next, attach DF1 Analyzer on top of that. Now, whenever DF1 messages are detected and parsed, human-readable desciptions will be printed in the log — side-by-side with the original data bytes. Nothing is lost — DF1 decoded messages complement the original raw data, not replace it.

Moreover, you can always remove the DF1 Analyzer layer and get back to the raw, unprocessed data streams.
