Hi IO Ninja Team:
I recently purchased an IO Ninja Serial Tap to sniffer RS-232 and UART signal. (Good HW/SW quality, love it!)
RS-232 sniffer looks good for me, but I'm in trouble when sniffer UART signal.
What I do is:
Then I see nothing on software. Kindly is my configuration correct? If not, what's the right configuration, thanks~~~
Hi James,
Glad you enjoy the quality of our HW/SW, thanks for the feedback!
Now, to your question. When you use a Serial Tap to sniff TTL-level UART signal, you have to use the terminal block on top of your Serial Tap, not DB9 connects at the sides.
As can be seen from this block diagram, DB9 connectors are for RS232 only; RS485 and UART(TTL) lines can only be connected the corresponding section of the terminal block.
Hope this helps!
Dear Valdimir:
This definitely help. I will give it a try and see what's the result. Thanks mate!
