<p dir="auto">I recently purchased an IO Ninja Serial Tap to sniffer RS-232 and UART signal. (Good HW/SW quality, love it!)</p>
<p dir="auto">RS-232 sniffer looks good for me, but I'm in trouble when sniffer UART signal.</p>
<p dir="auto">What I do is:</p>
<ol>
<li>Direct connect DB1 / DB2 connector's Tx, Rx, GND to my two UART devices separately.</li>
<li>Select switch to UART (TTL)</li>
<li>Open software and start to monitor.</li>
</ol>
<p dir="auto">Then I see nothing on software.<br />
Kindly is my configuration correct? If not, what's the right configuration, thanks~~~</p>

<p dir="auto">Now, to your question. When you use a Serial Tap to sniff TTL-level UART signal, you <em>have to</em> use the terminal block on top of your Serial Tap, not DB9 connects at the sides.</p>
<p dir="auto">As can be seen from this <a href="https://ioninja.com/doc/hw/index.html?st_diagram.htm" rel="nofollow ugc">block diagram</a>, DB9 connectors are for RS232 only; RS485 and UART(TTL) lines can only be connected the corresponding section of the terminal block.</p>
