Credits

IO Ninja credits are “leftovers” from previously acquired licenses, reduction of number of subscribed seats, or the capability resets. Credits pay for capabilities or subscriptions – but not for hardware!

When you purchase a capability or a subscription, the IO Ninja website will automatically use credits first, and only if there isn’t enough to complete the purchase, we will ask your permission to charge your credit card or PayPal account.

IO Ninja v3.x.x Licenses

We value our customers, so we were determined to make sure that the new capability design does not simply void all exisiting licenses. On the other hand, there are no more licenses in IO Ninja 5, only subscriptions and capabilities!

To solve this dilemma we decided to compensate all existing license holders with the so-called credits. We return the full price of a software license in form of credits. Now, we allow you to re-spend this amount again within the new capability/subscription model – to buy capabilities or subscriptions. So essentially, this upgrade remains FREE for old license holders.

Note

The credits for an old license are placed on the account idenitified by the email used at the moment of purchase.

And of course, your old license will keep working forever with the version of IO Ninja it was issued for (i.e., IO Ninja v3.x.x).

Credits Transfers

You can transfer IO Ninja credits to another account. Such a transfer might become necessary because purcases in a company are often managed by a person other than the intended user of the product. At the same time, as previously noted, credits for a previously acquired license are automaticaaly assigned based on the purchasing user’s email.

Example

A personal license was purcased by Mary the accountant, but it’s Jack the engineer who actually is using IO Ninja. Now, Jack wants to upgrade to IO Ninja 5, but he needs credits to unlock the necessary capabilities. Mary the accountant logs in with the email that was used to make the original purchase and then transfer all the credits to Jacks’ account. Now he himself can decide how to spend those credits, which capabilities to purchase, etc.
