And hello again! as today I am here writing is there any news about a new version on Ethernet Tap? I think you were working on it.... for me the real needed feature that I need for this kind of device it that it should be "transparent" in poweroff state. In our applications, it is critical do not cut the communications in any case, so if we install a -eg- EthernetTap it is importat that the communications do not cut even if the serialtap goes off.
(and, problably, this new Ethernet Tap would include other improvements... some memory for catching the packets, Gb,...)
Regards! Josep
Hello again, Josep,
Yes, it's in the works, but it's currently sidelined in favor of the upcoming release of Serial Tap Pro -- which I mentioned in my response to your post about the TTL signal inversion.
Full-scale development of the new generation of Ethernet Tap will be resumed after that.
Ok! Please, eventually, consider the option of being "transparent" when power-off, in my case, it is a really must. Regards!
consider the option of being "transparent" when power-off...
Oh yes, I agree! This is absolutely one of the must-have features for the next generation of Ethernet Tap. Disconnecting power from the tap should not disrupt the existing link.
